Since 1952

Sunnybrook has been a family run school since 1952. It was founded by Mrs. Irmingard Hoff, as one of North Toronto's first Preschools. With its move to the present Merton Street location in 1960 and several expansions, it now holds classes from JK through grade 6. In 1985, Mrs. Hoff's daughter, Irene Davy, Ph.D., became the director of the school. In 1999, Sunnybrook School was the first school in Ontario to adopt the IB Primary Years Programme.

The Learning Environment

Sunnybrook is a neighbourhood school, offering bright, airy classrooms. A large leafy playground allows wonderful outdoor activities. Our comfortable premises include a music room, a large library with over 8,000 volumes, a gym, and every class has a SMART Board.

A significant addition has been completed to provide:

• Improved music room
• 4 new large classrooms

The scope of Sunnybrook Physical Education programme is not limited by the size of our gym! Our sports programme is enhanced by swimming, skating, skiing, rock climbing, martial arts, dance and tennis.
