Choosing a school for a young child is an exciting time for families. We make this search as easy and manageable as possible. We have refined our process in order to make it clear and straightforward for prospective families.

The following steps will facilitate a smooth and informative experience as you consider Sunnybrook School for your son or daughter. We accept applications for all grades throughout the year, depending on availability of space. Please feel free to contact the school for further information regarding our admissions process.

OPEN HOUSES 2011/12

  • October 27 from 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m
  • November 23 from 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • February 2 from 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • April 11 from 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

2. Submit an Application

  • Your completed application form
  • A copy of your child's most recent report
  • Any other reports which will assist the school in understanding your child
  • Application fee of $100.00

3. Parent Interview

Upon receipt of your application, we will invite you for a personal interview with our Director, Irene Davy, or our Vice-Principal, Teralee Johnston.

4. Student Interview

This offers the opportunity to visit the school, and allows us to get to know your child. It is designed to ensure that the students feel comfortable and confident throughout the process.

We meet children in groups of 2 – 5 applicants. The assessment procedure varies for the different age groups; we are looking for applicants who demonstrate the IB Learner Profile, as outlined in our Parent Handbook. The assessment for students applying for grades 1 – 6 includes a mathematics and language arts component as well as group activities.
