Sunnybrook School Curriculum
The Curriculum at Sunnybrook School is thoughtfully planned to meet the students' learning needs at all levels of development. It is at the core of everything we do in the school. While keeping traditional academic pursuits central to the philosophy and practice of teaching, we strive to make all learning significant, relevant, challenging and engaging. Our scope and sequence includes the traditional disciplines of study in mathematics, language arts, social studies, science, French, the arts, and physical education, as well as the Programme of Inquiry, which is integral to the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). The Programme of Inquiry is based on six transdisciplinary themes, and determines the context learning in the disciplines of science, history, geography and social studies, as well as applications of language arts, math and art, and other areas of study. The Programme of Inquiry is at the heart of curriculum in the IB PYP school . This Programme of Inquiry was developed by the staff of Sunnybrook School and continues to grow and develop.
